Brikwall · encrypted vault for Android
AES-256-GCM · Argon2id · StrongBox No account · No uploadsA brick wall around your private photos.
Brikwall locks photos, videos and files inside a vault that only your pattern can open. Everything is encrypted on your phone. There's no sign-up, no email, and no copy of your key anywhere but your memory.
of memory every single guess has to spend (Argon2id), on top of a key locked in your phone's security chip.
Every encrypted brick on disk is exactly this size. Nothing tells them apart.
Your recovery phrase. Print it as a card with a QR code, or save it to a password manager.
Your files never leave the phone unless you export them or save a backup yourself.
A hidden folder isn't a wall.
Most "locked" folders open with the same PIN as your phone, and anyone who has seen you unlock it knows that PIN. Brikwall uses its own pattern, turns it into the encryption key itself, and ties that key to your phone's hardware. Without the pattern there's nothing to open, even with a full copy of the phone's storage.
Pattern encryption
FreeDraw 7 to 25 dots on a 5×5 grid. The pattern becomes the key that opens your vault. It's never stored, and nothing on the phone can check a guess without the phone itself.

FreeEvery unlock goes through a key sealed in your phone's security chip (StrongBox or the secure environment). Copy the files to a computer and they can't even be guessed at.
Learn more →Recovery phrase
FreeTwelve words that open your vault if you forget the pattern. Print them as a card with a QR code, or copy them to a password manager. The clipboard clears itself after 90 seconds.
Learn more →Separate vaults
FreeEach pattern opens its own vault, and there's no list of vaults anywhere. Make as many as you like. The free plan doesn't count them, because counting would give them away.
Learn more →Duress pattern
ProA second pattern for when you're forced to unlock. It opens a decoy vault and silently erases everything else on the phone, including the hardware key.
Learn more →Break-in alerts
ProSomeone draws the wrong pattern, and the front camera quietly takes their photo. You see who it was the next time you open your vault.
Learn more →Disguise
ProMake the app look like a Calculator, Notes, Weather or Clock app. The calculator even works; hold = to reach the pattern pad.
Learn more →Private camera
FreeTake photos and videos straight into the vault. They never touch your gallery, and location data is stripped before anything is saved.
Learn more →Documents, opened inside
FreeRead PDFs, Word files, Markdown and text without exporting them. They're decrypted into memory only, never into a file another app could see.
Learn more →Encrypted backup
FreeSave one sealed backup file to Google Drive or anywhere else. Google only ever gets ciphertext. Restore it on a new phone with your 12 words.
Learn more →Locks the moment you leave
FreeSwitch apps or turn the screen off and the vault locks and wipes its keys from memory. Screenshots and the recent-apps preview stay blank.
Learn more →Wrong guesses slow down
FreeFive free tries, then a wait that doubles each time, up to an hour. Changing the phone's clock doesn't skip it.
Learn more →Three steps, no setup wizard.
Draw a pattern
Any 7 to 25 dots. Brikwall shows how strong it is, you draw it again to confirm, and it becomes your key. It isn't saved anywhere, not even on your phone.
Add what's private
Bring in photos and videos from your gallery, documents from Files, or shoot new ones inside the vault. Each file is split into bricks and sealed with its own key as it comes in. Brikwall can then delete the originals through Android's own confirmation screen.
Walk away
Leave the app and it locks. The keys are wiped from memory. What's left on the phone is a wall of identical encrypted bricks that only your pattern can sort out again.
Every brick looks the same.
Brikwall stores everything as fixed-size encrypted chunks with random names. A photo, a video, a decoy vault and padding all look identical. Someone with a copy of the phone's storage sees how much is stored, but not which bricks belong together, which vault they're in, or how many vaults there are.
Someone has your phone. Now what?
Different people try different things. Here's what each of them gets.
Picks up your unlocked phone.
They see an ordinary app, or a calculator if you've turned on the disguise. Opening it shows a pattern pad and nothing else. Five wrong tries and the pad pauses, and with break-in alerts on, you'll see their face.
Makes you unlock it in front of them.
Draw your duress pattern. A believable decoy vault opens, and in the same moment everything else on the phone is erased, including the hardware key that could have opened it. There's nothing left to give up.
Copies the phone's storage to a computer.
The key needed to test a guess is locked inside your phone's security chip, so a copy alone can't test a single pattern. Even on the phone itself, every guess costs a full Argon2id run, plus the cooldowns.
Takes the phone for good.
Your vault goes with it, sealed. If you saved a backup, install Brikwall on your new phone, open the backup with your 12 words, and pick a new pattern.
Free to keep things private. Pro for the extra walls.
The free plan has full encryption, unlimited vaults, the private camera, backup and documents, with room for 100 photos and 10 videos per vault. Pro removes the limits and adds duress, break-in alerts and disguise.
If Pro ever lapses, nothing is locked away. Every file stays readable, and features you already set up keep working. Compare plans →
The short answers.
What happens if I forget my pattern?
Use your 12-word recovery phrase to get back in, then set a new pattern. If you've lost both, the vault can't be opened by anyone, including us. There is no reset link and no back door, by design.
Do I need an account?
No. No email, no phone number, no sign-up. Pro purchases go through Google Play and are linked to an anonymous ID, not to you.
Can you or Google see my files?
No. Files are encrypted on your phone before they're stored. We don't run a server that holds your data. If you save a backup to Google Drive, Drive only receives an encrypted file that opens with your recovery phrase.
Does Brikwall connect to the internet?
Only to check Pro purchases with RevenueCat, our billing provider. The app is locked down so it can't connect anywhere else, and that connection never carries your files, patterns or keys. How the lockdown works →
What can I store?
Any file. Photos and videos get a gallery, a zoomable viewer and a video player. PDFs, Word files (.docx, .odt), Markdown and text open right inside the vault. Anything else can be stored and exported when you need it.
Is it on iPhone?
Not yet. Brikwall is made for Android first, so it can use Android's hardware security features properly.
Lay the first brick.
It takes about thirty seconds: draw a pattern, add a photo, leave the app. Then try to get back in without the pattern.
